You communicate better when you know what you are looking for. When communication happens without a purpose, you loose the point of doing it.
Simply, the next time you talk to someone, understand that you will need to create a rapport for communicating better. In a book called 'How to Make People Like You: In 90 Seconds or Less' by Nicholas Boothman, he talks about the best ways to meet people, starting conversations and making them like you.
To make people like you instantly, according to Nicholas Boothman, you got to do three things right. First the meeting and followed by rapport and then communicating.
In all, I find rapport most interesting. Rapport is a communication channel between you and the other person. It means, you have to find out stuff that interests both of you as quickly as possible. This helps you feel familiar and communicable.
But how do you create rapport? I think the creating rapport is about our purpose of communication. As I said, when you know the purpose, you will meet people who are similarly interested in your interest or you will find it important to connect with people who do.
Start talking. It not just the words but how you tone them. Say “It's enough!” say it with anger, say it with a little smile. You changed the tone, you changed the way people interpret you. Opening up yourself a little is the key to a great rapport.
