How to take decisions based on beliefs?

You know what, you take decisions and then your beliefs kill you off. You decided to join a wildlife photography course but your belief says wildlife photography is dangerous, you could get eaten up by lions, tigers and owls and cranes. Then you should probably not take that decision.

Decisions Based on Beliefs

The point is, if you ever took a decision against your belief, you were some extreme state of consciousness. It could be anger or even happiness or doubt. When we are in bliss, when we take right decisions or feel our decisions were right it is almost always because our beliefs align with our decisions.

When you feel a decision wasn't take right, you can rightly understand that you beliefs are breaking your mind.

How do you take decisions based on your beliefs? Simple, every time you have a choice, make sure you check your beliefs relating to it. Say you are taking a career choice. Check your beliefs with your career. If the subjects feel tough and uninteresting and lousy, your beliefs are probably indicating you not to take it up.

Definitely, if you could change your beliefs you might just enjoy that career but why take a chance? Change the choice instead. That’s because we can’t determine exactly when which belief gets created. We can just go with it.

Your belief system is good. Don't try to change it. Use it. Make a list of beliefs about every aspect of your life or what you are about to do. Say yes if it matches, no if it doesn't.  Illustration by Sebastian Mary via Flickr
