1. Start with a goal.

Write down in your exercise book exactly what you want. When you do this, we are not trying to impress your subconscious mind or anything magical but we are being absolutely clear what we want because that’s only when we can focus and concentrate on our subject.

2. Turn it into a desire.

How do you turn your goals into your desire? Desire is something you can’t put down. Desire is something you think about all the time, all day. Every morning you get up, it is your desire to be happy and fulfilled. This is one critical part of any personal development planning because definitely if you have a goal but don’t have a desire that pull you towards itself, you are missing the whole point of “enjoyable survival”.

3. Find habits that don’t match your goals.

If you are writing you goal means something is obstructing you from reaching your desire. All you should do is make a honest list of things that are obstructing you from reaching your desire. This could reach anywhere from laziness to procrastination, lack of interest to lack of money, social obligations or social anxiety. Just write down all that is keeping you away.

4. Start right away.

The big mistake I used to make as a child was that I planned a lot and waited for the perfect plan because that’s what I was taught by people all around me. The truth was what I learned in the book Think and Grow Rich. Don’t ever wait for the perfect plan. Just start with whatever you have now and the perfect plan shall follow.

5. Change Your Habits.

Now that you know what is obstructing you, all you are supposed to do is find a way to break free from those habits. Breaking free from habits generally means creating some new habits because that’s how you will be able to replace the older ones. Make sure your new replacement habits are lots of fun and enjoyable and you will have less time migrating to them.

6. Collect information.

As habits change, you will need to move faster towards your goals. Start collecting information and learning new things. If you are finding trouble, join a personal development course that will push you to improve yourself.

The idea is to stay motivated, be absolutely clear about what you want and follow a personal development plan that doesn’t make you fret at the end.
